The Second Annual Dancing with the Stars Competition is only days away! 

Seven professors have been paired up with members from the Ithaca College Ballroom Dance Team for the past two months. Come out and support them as perform routines like you have never seen before!

Our all-star contestant line-up includes:

  • Dawn Pierce- Vocal Performance (Tango)
  • James Pfrehm- German Language (Rumba)
  • Mara Alper- Television and Radio (Samba/Salsa)
  • Vincent DeTuri- Chemistry (Swing)

The Ithaca College Office of Information Technology Services, the Ithaca College Office of Facilities' Energy Manager, and the Sustainability at Ithaca program are partnering with Action Research Inc., a researcher from SUNY Plattburgh, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to conduct a research project in our campus computer labs to determine the most effective strategies to motivate users to turn off their computers and monitors before leaving the computer lab.

Tuesday, 4/26/2011 from 7pm to 9pm and Wednesday, 5/18/2011 from 7pm to 9pm.  All classes will be held in Textor 102.

Please have your student contact the Office of Risk Management to register for one of the Student Driver Safety Classes.  Your student must attend the full 2 hour class.  They can register in person (319 PRW Ctr), by telephone at 607-274-3285 or via email at riskmanagement@ithaca.edu.

Sometimes we help others best by providing resources for them to help themselves.  If you are concerned about a friend, consider forwarding him or her a link to CAPS free online screenings for depression, anxiety, eating and alcohol issues.  Feedback received from the screening might provide the motivation your friend needs to be healthier.

As you may have recently heard, Joanne Hindman, a 17-year veteran in the Office of Marketing Communications, will be leaving her position as Associate Director of Web Content Strategy.

Please plan to join the Office of Marketing Communications for a farewell reception for Joanne Hindman on her last day, Thursday, April 14, anytime from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Alumni Hall Conference Room.
