Affinity groups are designed to be a safe place where both staff and faculty may speak on common interests and provide an opportunity to seek and support one another.

The Working Parents Affinity Group (WPAG) provides different perspectives on integrating work and our families as working professionals. This group is co-facilitated by two moms who work here on campus and who are interested in developing a resourceful place for other working parents to come together and share with one another based on ideas that YOU provide!!

Never feel helpless in an emergency situation! Attend this free one-hour workshop and let our team of trained EMT's teach you basic emergency skills including CPR and first aid*. All participants will receive a free CPR face mask upon program completion.

The Student Computer Repair Center will open for the Spring 2011 semester on Sunday, January 23, from noon to 5:00 p.m. The SCRC offers personal computer repair service for all students, faculty, and staff with a valid Ithaca College ID.

Please note that beginning Sunday, January 23, the SCRC will no longer provide free warranty repair service for Dell computers, as it is no longer an authorized service provider for Dells. The SCRC will continue to provide free warranty repair service for Apple computers and can perform non-warranty service on all computer brands including Dells.

Faith and Social Justice Panel Discussion
Wednesday, January 26

Dr. King's messages of non-violence, servant leadership, and hope for a brighter tomorrow were based in his spiritual beliefs.  He often drew from religious texts and stories in his speeches to convey these messages and made both faith and social justice the core of his work.  In today's society, issues of gay rights, immigration, poverty, health care, and other topics seem to make their way into headlines everyday.  At the same time, there has been a religious resurgence in the world, some in part of events of the past decade (9/11, wars, natural disasters, etc).  Many struggle to see where faith and social justice can intersect, if at all.  This discussion intends to create dialogue around the idea of where faith and social justice might meet and can intersect.

Bryan Roberts joined the Park School this week as the Assistant Dean for Student Services. He will focus on student advising, transfer and waiver requests, academic status as well as orientation.

Bryan holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in communication from the University of Connecticut, and for the past three years has been Director of the Academic Resource Center at SUNY Purchase. In his seven years of advising experience, particularly in communications, he's coordinated their freshman seminar, supervised peer advising, organized orientation sessions, initiated new programs for data analysis for retention, and trained faculty advisors.

It's time to get back in shape and the Fitness Center is offering several classes for the spring semester. You pay and sign up at the Fitness Center Front Desk.  Phone requests are not be accepted and don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to sign up when you return to school.  The classes have a fee because they are taught by professional instructors.
