IC BASICS consists of personalized, one-on-one sessions with the college health educator. Nonjudgmental feedback and information are provided in a confidential, private setting. IC BASICS provides students with an opportunity to discuss substance use patterns and identify practical changes for reducing harm.

The Ithacan was presented with the 2010 Online Pacemaker Award for overall excellence in online journalism on Oct. 30 at the fall National College Media Convention in Louisville, Ky. This is the fourth time in the past five years The Ithacan's website has won the national award.

The Ithacan's print edition was also presented with a national Newspaper Pacemaker Finalist award at the event.

The Pacemakers, presented each year by the Associated College Press, are the widely regarded as "the Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism," and are among the most prestigious student journalism awards in the country. 

In addition, the paper won second place in the newspaper category in the convention's Best of Show awards; The Ithacan's website received third place in the Web category.

Welcome To The Party

Students Active For Ending Rape (SAFER), Health Promotions, and Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE) invites you to a screening of a rape awareness and prevention film, Welcome to the Party, directed and edited by Tom Nicholson, assistant professor of television and radio in the Park School. The screening will take place on Tuesday, November 2, at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 101. There will be a discussion afterward led by an advocate from the Advocacy center, Allison Bliss.

Harry Potter Alliance Meeting!!

Join the Harry Potter Alliance on Tuesday Nov. 2 at 7pm in Williams 221 for games and discussion!

The IC Harry Potter Alliance aims to help educate individuals on various social action and social justice-based initiatives by drawing links between the book series by J.K. Rowling and our world. Friday Nov. 5 at 7pm in Textor 101

Come join the Harry Potter Alliance and watch The Final Battle - the first public screening since its performance this summer in Orlando, FL! The Final Battle is a musical based on the last 200 pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It was written and directed by Ithaca College senior Lena Gabrielle Weinstein.

Admission is free!

There will be a short talkback following the screening.

Lena will be selling the "Songs from The Final Battle" CD [$10] and taking limited-edition t-shirt orders [$15] after the show.

November is finally here, and with it comes the highly acclaimed, much anticipated, sixth annual Employee Appreciation Program, “Thank You for Making a Difference”. ALL SAINTS DAY

The Solemnity of All Saints (All Saints Day) is Monday, November 1, 2010. The Holy Day Mass will be celebrated at 12:10 PM and 5:30 PM in Muller Chapel to honor the saints and all of us called to be saints. Come join in the Eucharistic celebration of heroism, courage and grace! (All Saints Day Mass will also be offered at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Longview.)
