The Park Center for Independent Media presents “An Evening with Daniel Ellsberg” on Wednesday, October 20, in Ford Hall. The Oscar-nominated documentary “The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers” will be screened at 7 p.m., with Ellsberg speaking at 8:30 p.m. Both the film and lecture are free and open to the public. (143 words) Bomber Softball Team Ranks In Top 10 Nationally In GPAContributed by Michael Warwick on 10/06/10 The Ithaca softball team ranked 10th nationally with a 3.447 grade-point average, according to figures recently released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The Bombers, who reached the Division III World Series last year for the ninth time in 15 years, were the only World Series team to rank in the top 10. Ithaca ranked eighth in 2009; this marks the first time the Bombers have finished in the nation's top 10 in consecutive seasons. The Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life no longer issues “Notifications of Absence.” On-campus residents who will be away from campus for an extended period of time should notify Residential Life of their absence from campus by emailing housing@ithaca.edu and including their building and room number in that message.

The International Club (ICIC) in collaboration with the Office of International Programs will hold the annual International Photo Exhibition on October 26th and 27th. The display will up for viewing and voting from 10:00am to 3:00pm in the North Foyer.
Consider joining a local contingent at IC to participate in the NMC 2010 Virtual Symposium of the Future on October 19-21 in the Center for Educational Technology. The Symposium, held online, looks toward the future: What might the world look like in five years or ten? Technologies and practices that are just beginning to show promise in an educational or social context may well be commonplace in that time frame. ITS has purchased one paid registration to log into this event from the CET. There is no charge to participants and is open to faculty, staff, and students.
