Barney Beins (Professor, Psychology) received the 2010 Charles L. Brewer Distinguished Teaching of Psychology Award at the national conference of the American Psychological Association in August.  Professor Beins received this prestigious award for his many years of excellent teaching and his broader influence on the teaching of psychology through his long-term involvement in the teaching division of the APA.  Only one such award is given each year.

 

Dan Heffner will host an open student session on Friday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. in Park Auditorium.  He will talk about his time at IC, his career path, and of course, show clips of Saw 3D.  

 

 

 

 

Craig Cummings, Professor of Music Theory, recently completed three invited guest lectures in Oklahoma—one for students at Oklahoma Baptist University and two for the Oklahoma Music Theory Roundtable.

White, Associate Professor of Music Theory, will present a paper on Thursday, September 23 at the upcoming 2010 National Conference of the College Music Society in Minneapolis, MN.  Prof. White’s latest work continues his ongoing research of analyzing popular music “covers” within a framework of semiotical style change.
