Kathleen Mulligan (Theatre Arts) recently returned from performing her one-woman show The Belle of Amherst (based on the life and writings of Emily Dickinson) at the Zoukak Theatre in Beirut, Lebanon.

The Belle of Amherst starts a limited run this week as part of the mini festival of one-woman shows, “Listen to Her”, at the Cherry Arts space.

Studies in Documentary Film recently published an extended interview with Patricia R. Zimmermann, Professor of Screen Studies and codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) and Dale Hudson, Associate Professor of Cinema and New Media, New York University Abu Dhabi, about their book, Thinking through Digital Media:  Transnational Environments and Locative Places (London: Palgrave Macmillan, 2015).

Erin Lockett (BFA Acting) spent the summer as an I.C. Summer Scholar researching the playwright Lorraine Hansberry (A Raisin in the Sun) and writing a one woman show about her life. Erin's summer research mentor was Professor Kathleen Mulligan. Lockett and Mulligan spoke on Erin's project at the 4th Annual StateraArts conference in New York on October 26 in a presentation entitled "Grabbing the Narrative: Creating a One Woman Show on the Life of Lorraine Hansberry."

The presentation, “Paths to Resilience: A Community Environmental History Project in Nicaragua,” explored the ways his Fulbright-funded work in Nicaragua in 2017 embodied the conference theme "Connecting Hearts and Minds for Global Change." The Fulbright Association Conference annually brings together Fulbright alumni and other public diplomacy advocates and experts to showcase Fulbright research and celebrate the accomplishments of this remarkable exchange program.  
 

The Academic Advising Center will be open at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday Nov 5th, Thursday Nov 7th, Tuesday Nov 12th and Thursday Nov 14th.  If you have any challenges while registering for fall semester courses, please come see us in 130A Rothschild Place.

 Great news, students! Ithaca College has started a new exchange program with the University of Hildesheim, in beautiful Hildesheim, Germany. We are currently seeking students interested in participating in the first year of our exchange. Students from all schools and disciplines are welcome to apply; however, there is a preference for students in education, linguistics, speech pathology, or foreign languages.
