 The Women's and Gender Studies Program is holding a social hour for students, staff, and faculty interested in learning more about the WGST program and courses that will be offered in spring 2020.  It will also be an opportunity to meet other students already in the program and faculty who teach WGST courses.  Everyone welcome!   Light refreshments will be served.  

The Social Hour will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, from 4:30-6:00 pm.  Feel free to drop in any time.

Professor Barney Beins presented the keynote address at the 21st annual Mid-Atlantic Teaching of Psychology conference. The presentation was entitled The Long Road: The Golden Age of the Teaching of Psychology. The talk revolved around the history of teaching technology and curriculum development over the past century.

Professor Beins is a member of the Society for the History of Psychology and is former editor of the teaching section of the journal History of Psychology.

Join us for the 2nd annual Ithaca College code{a}thon Saturday, October 26 through Sunday, October 27, in Friends Hall, Room 110c for 24-hours of creating, collaborating and coding. Check-in will be Saturday at 10:00 am followed by generating ideas, forming teams, and gathering resources. Teams will have 24-hours to create a prototype and present to judges. Winners will be announced at noon on Sunday. This event is presented by the Ithaca College Computer Science Department, Women in Computing, IT@IC, and Ed Tech Day at Ithaca College.

Toni Cade Bambara asked this question 40 years ago in The Salt Eaters.  Right now, it is more relevant than ever for every / body.  However, how do we get well when we have not named the things that have wounded and continue to wound us?  What are the connections between being well and being free?  How can Black Studies be a path that helps us acknowledge the struggle of birth AND untether us from the struggles that (will) kill us?  Most importantly:  When or if we get free, how do we stay free?

Alumnus NICHOLAS ZUBA will speak about his career path with a MPA from CIPA, and his work in the renewable energy world, and currently as Senior Manager, Connecticut Green Bank. Thomas O’Toole will share about the CIPA program. CIPA offers a two-year program of study leading to the Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. With an interdisciplinary curriculum, students have access to faculty members across Cornell University, which is among the largest and most diverse of the Ivy League universities.
