Study abroad info sessions!

Are you interested in studying abroad? Come to one of our info sessions! The Summer Study Abroad sessions will give you a look at all of your options for an international experience over the summer.  The Options for Study Abroad at IC sessions give an overview of all of the study abroad options available to you as an IC student. The London Center sessions will give you a detailed glimpse of what a semester abroad in London is like. Come learn more about your study abroad options!

Alexandra J. Cacioppo and Steve Hondorf, both health and physical education majors, have been named recipients of the  Major of the Year Award by NASPE (National Association for Sport and Physical Education). The criteria for selection is good academic standing and service to the college and/or community.

According to Dr. Raj Subramaniam, Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, "It is truly an honor for Ithaca College to have our students recognized at the national level."

The award presentation will take place at the NASPE Convention in Indianapolis on March 18, 2010.

All are welcome to attend this organizational meeting for Haiti Relief efforts. The purpose of this meeting is to share ideas and identify collaborators for the college’s relief effort.

Representatives from the Student Government Association and the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs will be on hand to facilitate the meeting.

Psychology professor Barney Beins was elected Fellow in International Psychology, a division of the American Psychological Association that represents the interest of all psychologists who foster international connections among psychologists, engage in multicultural research or practice, apply psychological principles to the development of public policy, or are otherwise concerned with individual and group consequences of global events.

Professor Janice Levy from the Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts Department, was part of a four-member team in Saudi Arabia for ten days in January conducting workshops on academic leadership. 

Professor Levy’s workshops on chairing an academic department were for women from Princess Nora Bint Abdlurahman University, King Saud University, and Al-Imam Muhammed Ibn Saud Islamic University, all in Riyadh.

The team (two women and two men) was sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Academic Leadership Center, which is under the auspices of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Team members were drawn from the Honors College at Florida Atlantic University, the University of San Francisco School of Education, the Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth, and the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
