Presidential Search Update

As the new academic semester gets underway, I wanted to provide an update on the work of the Presidential Search Committee. The committee has been hard at work over the semester break reviewing materials submitted by potential candidates. I am very pleased to report that we have a very high-quality and experienced candidate pool. It is clear that Ithaca College is highly regarded in the world of higher education.

The Office of Residential Life anticipates needing to approve seniors and non-seniors to move off campus for fall 2008.

In order to expedite the process, and make approval notifications earlier, the Office of Residential Life will begin the off-campus approval process on Friday, February 1, 2008.

The Handwerker Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the 2008 Ithaca College Faculty Art Show on Tuesday, January 22. Featuring work by 12 faculty in the art; cinema, photography, and media arts; and television-radio departments, the exhibition highlights the diversity of contemporary art practices at Ithaca College.

Concerto Competition

The annual concerto competition, in which School of Music students compete for the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the IC Symphony Orchestra, is open to the public and will be held on Sunday, January 27, at 1:00 p.m. in Ford Hall.

The Women's Studies Program's annual in-house conference, WomenSpeak, will take place on Tuesday, February 26, from 10:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge of the Campus Center.

The Fred Kastenbaum PreHealth Award is available through the Premedical Sciences.

$500 is awarded each semester by the Premed Committee.

The funds are to be used for assistance with preparation for the required standardized exams associated with admittance to graduate health programs such as: MCAT, DAT, OAT, and/or GRE.

Pilates at the Wellness Clinic

Beginning Tuesday, January 22, the Wellness Clinic will again be offering Pilates classes under the instruction of Johanna Goehner. The classes will run from 1:30 to 2:15 every Tuesday for 14 weeks, at a cost of $60.
