Feeling SAD?

Contributed by Priscilla Quirk on 11/08/06

The days are getting darker, the weather colder. It can be depressing.

If you feel moody and less energetic or productive; if you have trouble concentrating, sleep more than usual and are less enthused about life and socializing, you might be experiencing symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder.

The Health Promotion Resource Room (lower level, Hammond Health Center) has a light box display for trial use, and information about light therapy and other ways to combat winter blues. Feel free to drop in to pick up information and try the light box.

If seasonal depression is affecting your daily functioning, please make an appointment to see a counselor in the Counseling Center.

Don’t let the weather bring you down!
