“Thrio Plus Two” will give a free jazz concert on Monday, October 23 at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Thrio is comprised of jazz guitarists Steve Brown and John Stowe and pianist Hal Galper. They will be joined by bassist Miles Brown and percussionist Chacho Ramirez. Their program will include music of Steve Brown, Hal Galper, Cole Porter, and others.

The Prague Chamber Orchestra—which performs without a conductor—and piano soloist Menahem Pressler will open the yearlong Ithaca College Concerts season “Extreme Chamber Music” on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The performance will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.

A new Steinway concert grand piano—the most recent gift by longtime Ithaca College School of Music supporter Shirley Hockett—will be dedicated at a free concert on Sunday, Oct. 22. Beginning at 4 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music, the recital will feature performances by members of Hockett’s family, with assistance from two faculty musicians.
