Every year in the month of April, communities come together to recognize the impact that sexual violence has on families, friends, co-workers, neighbors and strangers. Here at Ithaca College, the Sexual Violence Prevention Committee has collaborated with various groups to raise public awareness and educate the community on how to prevent it through highlighting the importance of affirmative consent. The campaign theme, I Ask, champions the message that asking for consent is healthy, normal, and a necessary part of everyday interactions.

Bloom and blossom with Service Saturday on April 13th. This is our last event of the year, so lets get out and do some good work! And since April marks National Volunteer Appreciation Month, we'll be giving away reusable metal straws, new stickers, and the first twenty students who sign up AND participate will receive a 36oz stainless steel hydroflask courtesy of Service Saturdays!

Sites will include:

Cayuga Nature Center (10:30am - 12:30pm or 12:30pm - 2:30pm)

Coddington Community Center (10am - 1pm)

Family Reading Partnership (10am - 1pm)

Beechtree Care Center (10am - 1pm)

Come see the body of the work created by the residents at MacCormick Secure Center in collaboration with HEARD volunteers this semester. Refreshments and food will be provided.


IC HEARD stands for Human Expression through the Arts: A Reciprocal Development program. IC HEARD is a serviced-based organization providing creative arts programming to incarcerated young men ages 14-20. HEARD provides opportunities for further education on topics ON CAMPUS as well including (but not limited to): recidivism, literacy rates, family relationships, and the justice system.

Cena Block ’89 is coming to campus to do productivity workshops for students and has graciously offered to do a session for faculty and staff. She is a productivity expert and ADHD coach. This workshop will provide an overview and framework to make the next 90 days productive and fulfilling. It will be a hands-on workshop to identify where we’re struggling and how to manage all that we do.

Come learn from Bill Foster, the Program Director of Discover Cayuga Lake (formerly known as the Cayuga Lake Floating Classroom). Bill will be discussing what Discover Cayuga Lake does, to include eco-cruises on Cayuga Lake, class experiences doing science on the lake for ages 5 and up, Trout in the Classroom, and a variety of stream-based field trips.

Food will be served. Bonus: they hire interns and summer employees!

Come support the Softball team this Saturday (4/13) and the Golf team this Sunday (4/14), as they dedicate their events to Ithaca College Unites for HER, an organization that works to raise money to provide complementary services to those diagnosed with breast cancer in the Ithaca College community! The softball games will begin at 1pm and 4pm on 4/13 at the Kostrinsky Field, and golf will take place on 4/13 (time TBA) at the Country Club of Ithaca. Please wear pink to show your support.
