  The Ithacan has been named a Newspaper Pacemaker finalist for 2018 by the Associated Collegiate Press. The winners of the award — widely regarded as the “Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism” — will be announced at the Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association National College Media Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, October 25-28.

The award is presented for issues published during the 2017-18 academic year (Aidan Quigley, editor in chief).

Last year, The Ithacan was inducted into the Pacemaker Hall of Fame, which recognizes publications that have received at least 15 national Pacemaker and Pacemaker Finalist awards. 

The Associated Collegiate Press is the oldest and largest national membership organization for college journalists in the country. 

Information Technology has updated the IT Service Portal to provide a more streamlined experience.  The portal is your “go to” place for finding technology answers, requesting IT services and submitting help tickets. We're also adding survey functionality to our ticketing process.

All of our group exercise classes are offered free of charge and open to all members of the Ithaca College campus community. Class sign-ups are available 12 hours in advance online at recreation.ithaca.edu as well as at the Fitness Center front desk. There are a limited number of slots available for each class so please register early, and plan on arriving a few minutes before the scheduled start time.  For a short walk through of the new online sign up for classes on our website, check out this video! On the login screen, please be sure to click the "Sign in with Netpass" link before entering your Netpass credentials.

September 3-7 is National Payroll Week (NPW)!  Please stop by the Payroll and Student Employment Office located on the Garden Level of the PRW Center at the following times to meet with a Payroll and Student Employment member and to pick up your NPW gift (while supplies last):

Wednesday 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

Thursday 3 p.m.-5  p.m.

Friday 12 p.m.-2 p.m.

National Payroll Week (NPW) is a nationally recognized event that highlights the partnerships between employees, payroll professionals, and government agencies.  The purpose of NPW is to spread awareness of the payroll withholding system, and to educate employees on how paychecks are calculated.  

The justice position calls for members of the Ithaca College staff and faculty to serve as justices for Ithaca College Conduct Review Board hearings. The Conduct board is charged with the responsibility of protecting and enforcing the rules and regulations set down in the Ithaca College Student Conduct Code's 'Statement of Responsibilities'.

The Hammond Health Center will be closed from 8 a.m.until 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 6th, 2018, so that our staff can attend the Student Affairs and Campus Life Retreat. No services will be available during this time and there will be no same day appointments on Thursday.  The Health Center will reopen at 3 p.m. for scheduled appointments.  Medication pick up will also be available after 3 p.m.

As always, if you have a medical emergency, call 911.

Last Spring, Pablo Cohen obtained the Gold Medal for Best Instrumentalist and Best Album at the Global Music Awards Spring 2018, in recognition of his solo album "La casa"."
