Ithaca College has named William Guerrero, an experienced and innovative leader with a record of achievement directing and improving financial performance in higher education and independent schools, as vice president for finance and administration. He will assume his new position on July 16.

Guerrero spent the majority of his career at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Purchase, where from 1999 to 2013 he served as executive director of the Purchase College Association, an auxiliary service corporation charged with supporting the academic mission of the university.

Summer Hours begin May 25

Summer Hours will begin Friday, May 25, 2018, and continue through August 10, 2018. During this period, full-time employees will work two fewer hours (37-1/2 hours reduced to 35-1/2, 40 hours reduced to 38 hours) and receive their usual compensation. Ithaca College’s official business hours will end at 3:00 p.m. on Fridays instead of 5:00 p.m. This year, there will be 12 Fridays on which the official hours will be reduced by two hours. 

Please remember the Summer Hours benefit may not be combined with PTA.

The Summer Hours policy applies to all full-time, benefits-eligible staff. For more information, please contact Katie Sack at 274-8000.

 Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Shobhana Xavier this academic year published two new books on Sufism. Her book Sacred Spaces and Transnational Networks in American Sufism: Bawa Muhaiyaddeen and Contemporary Shrine Cultures is published by Bloomsbury Academic as part of their Islam of the Global West series.  Contemporary Sufism: Piety, Politics, and Popular Culture (co-authored by Xavier with Meena Sharify-Funk and William Rory Dickson) is published by Routledge.
