On the first night of Chanukah(12/12/2017), we'll be lighting a 6-foot tall ICE MENORAH on campus, and then partying in front of the flames in the Clarke Lounge. There will be free food (latkes, donuts, anything we can fry in oil), a photo booth, dreidel tournaments, and a LIVE KLEZMER BAND!

The Roy H. Park School of Communications is proud to announce Bill D’Elia ’69 and David E. Kelley as recipients of this year’s Rod Serling Award for Advancing Social Justice through Popular Media. D’Elia and Kelley have collaborated and shared credits on series such as Boston Legal, Harry’s Law, Ally McBeal, and Chicago Hope.

The ceremony will be streamed live on Thursday, December 7, from The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills at approximately 10:30 p.m. EST (7:30 p.m. PST) at ithaca.edu/rhp/serling/live. If you can’t tune in live, the broadcast will be archived online for later viewing.

Actor William Shatner who has appeared in Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone and in The Practice and Boston Legal will present the award to D’Elia and Kelley. Brian Herzlinger ’97, an award-winning film director who collaborated with both D’Elia and Kelley will serve as master of ceremonies.

Continuing this year, the Center for Faculty Excellence is offering an excellence institute in inclusive course design. The Early Career Excellence Institute (ECEI) is a yearlong opportunity. Participants work in faculty learning communities to problem solve, design, and reflect on significant and equitable course changes. This is a chance for faculty across campus to build substantive interdisciplinary relationships across campus regarding pedagogical intention and access in student learning.

Kartika Pratiwi was born in Malang, Indonesia and graduated from a Master Program in Cultural Studies. She has been an independent researcher with an interest in narrative discourse on the 1965 genocide in Indonesia, Chinese-Indonesian issues and digital storytelling.

Since 2008, she has been part of kotakhitam Forum – an independent organization, dedicated to research; workshops and documentary movie production for social and political changes. During that time, she has been involved in documentary film productions including Api Kartini (2012); and several video archives on Indonesian political history and collective memory.

Have You Recently Been Diagnosed With Cancer?? Are you trying to get back into an exercise routine or get your strength and endurance back up? Then this study may be for you...

Ithaca College faculty members and physical therapists, Dr. Jill Mayer and Dr. Kayleigh Plumeau are conducting a research project with several physical therapy students. They are studying the effects of an individualized home exercise program on function and quality of life in cancer survivors. They are looking to identify individuals who are interested in receiving an individualized home exercise program designed by a physical therapist to complete over 8 weeks. Interested participants must have an active diagnosis of cancer (any type) or be newly in remission (<90 days since their final treatment).
