This is a great opportunity for college students to learn first hand about a career field, network with employees, and explore internship and job opportunities. On Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at 12:10 p.m., Cornell University will conduct a test of the CornellALERT emergency mass notification systems.  The test will include activation of sirens, public address, voice and text messaging, e-mail, digital screens and social media.

Cornell has requested that this information be shared with the Ithaca College community so IC staff, faculty, and students are aware that the tested sirens and public address systems may be heard at locations beyond the Cornell campus. 

Career Services is excited to welcome two new staff: Cheryl Rotyliano and Sonia Herman who began in October. They come to us with higher ed experience in Career Services and Academic Advising. Their roles include providing career coaching for students and alumni, planning big events, presenting to student groups, and helping develop our Career Community and Identity Affinity models. Please join us in welcoming Cheryl and Sonia to IC!

Saturday, November 11, the Cortaca Jug game will be held on our campus. This is one of our largest events, and we are expecting an attendance of more than 10,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors for this year's game.

From its humble beginnings as a music conservatory in downtown Ithaca with eight teachers, Ithaca College has grown to become a prestigious liberal arts college with more than 60,000 alumni. This November, the IC community will honor all the college has accomplished over the last 125 years, while also celebrating its future.

President Collado has announced that Wiff/Kieffer has been selected as the search firm to work with her and the search committee on the Provost search.  Robin Mamlet, Managing Partner, Charlene Aguilar, Search Consultant, and Philip Tang, Search Consultant, will be on campus to meet with members of the campus community on October 27th and November 10th.  The purpose of the visits will be to get to know the Ithaca College community and to gather information which will inform the development and finalization of the Provost Search prospectus.

The inauguration of Shirley M. Collado as Ithaca College’s ninth president takes place within the Weekend on South Hill, a celebration of the college’s 125th anniversary. Activities are planned throughout the weekend to honor the college’s deep roots as a place where theory, practice, and performance spark innovation and collaboration.

Be a part of our uplifting and joyful community-wide celebration marking the beginning of President Collado’s tenure on Saturday, November 4, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in Glazer Arena in the Athletics and Events Center. Doors open at 9 a.m. Please come early and record a greeting for President Collado.

If so, the Department of Writing is accepting applications from now until Nov. 17 for the Visiting Writer's Workshop (WRTG 38000), a 1-credit course in which students will study with — and receive feedback on their work from — the three nationally recognized authors who'll be brought to IC for the Spring 2018 Distinguished Visiting Writers Series.
