An information session will be held at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7 in Park 283. (Pizza provided!) Alumni from the course will chat about their experiences.

What's it like to report in a foreign country? Build your portfolio of work and expand your digital storytelling skills while immersed in Italian life and culture. Journalism professor Anthony Adornato will be teaching a four-week multimedia journalism course in Urbino, Italy. A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and a former White House photographer also teach as part of the Urbino program. The course is open to journalism and non-journalism majors.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) History Month is almost over. The final videos highlighting different historical figures will air on the LGBT Center website in the coming days. Information Technology is currently planning for critical software upgrades in IT-managed computer labs for Spring 2018. If you need software installed or upgraded to support instruction, please submit the software request form at www.ithaca.edu/diis/services/labs/softwarereq/ by Friday, November 3rd, 2017.

In this year filled with so many firsts and so many rejuvenated traditions, we’ve just returned home from our first Board of Trustees meeting of the academic year, held October 11-13. We chose to hold the fall meeting in New York City so that the board could participate in the alumni awards celebration taking place there. It was an uplifting event that set the perfect tone for the fall.

As a follow up to the Intercom announcement from October 3rd, we've unfortunately had to postpone the roll out of the mandatory workplace harassment prevention training until later this month.  Due to the postponement, we will be extending the deadline for completion.  The new deadline will be communicated when the training is released.

Fight the Flu this Season!

Thank you to everyone who received a vaccination at this year's POD. More than 750 students, faculty, and staff attended for a free flu shot.  

While seasonal influenza (flu) viruses can be detected year-round, flu viruses are most common during the fall and winter. The exact timing and duration of flu seasons can vary, but influenza activity often begins to increase in October. Most of the time flu activity peaks between December and February, although activity can last as late as May.
