Scheduled Maintenance for Single Sign-on Services, Monday, March 13thContributed by Michelle Doucette on 03/02/17 This is a reminder that DIIS will be updating one of our authentication systems at 8:30 AM on Monday, March 13th (the first day of spring break, when the college is closed). The impact will be limited to just the services listed below. We will be coordinating with each service provider, and login to these services will be unavailable starting at 8:30 am until each service provider completes their portion of the work that morning or afternoon. (136 words) Following our peaceful and legal demonstrations on Monday and Friday of last week, at which IC Contingent Faculty gathered together with student allies, tenured faculty, and community members to protest the refusal of the administration to settle a fair contract with the union, we received a sharply worded letter from William Kerry, IC’s Chief of Police, threatening “a variety of actions up to and including legal proceedings” should the union attempt to picket or demonstrate peacefully within college property. To justify this blatant abrogation of the right of IC faculty and students to free speech and assembly in their own workplace, Chief Kerry accuses the participants of the demonstrations last week of having “stopped traffic” and “entered the college.” Read more . . . Lindsey graduated from Penn State University in 2012 and has been with NBC for over four years. Lindsey’s most recent work-related travels include the 2017 Super Bowl LI and Rio Olympics.
