Film Screening of Gen Silent
Gen Silent startlingly discovers how oppression in the years before Stonewall now affects older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people with fear and isolation. Many who won the first civil rights victories for generations to come are now dying prematurely because they are reluctant to ask for help and have too few friends or family to care for them. Gen Silent shows the disparity in the quality of paid caregiving from mainstream care facilities committed to making their LGBT residents safe and happy, to places where LGBT elders face discrimination by staff and bullying by other seniors.

Inside Higher Education recently published an article by James Pfrehm, Assistant Professor of German. The article, "Finding Brains in Blood and Brawn," describes how Pfrehm found new inspiration for his career through the interdisciplinarity, collegiality, and inclusiveness of MMA training.

 DIIS will be hosting three Lynda.com Workshops by Laurie Burruss from Lynda on Thursday February 23rd at the times listed below. Focusing on three topics, they allow the campus community a chance to see the possibilities for the use of Lynda.com inside and outside of the classrooms.

With Lynda.com, our campus community has access to over 4,000 video courses, covering a wide range of topics from Accounting to Web Development.

 We, the undersigned continuing full-time faculty in the Department of Chemistry, support our part-time and contingent colleagues across campus in their collective union efforts to forge a mutually beneficial contract with Ithaca College.
