We will spend the beginning of this song-filled pluralistic service together, then breakout into Reform & Conservative style streams, then come back together for a joyful welcoming of Shabbat Ithaca College Hillel style!

Ithaca College faculty will discuss pivoting and resiliency with Ithaca College exploratory students Focus will be on making connections between educational experiences, changing career interests, and personal values. All students are welcome!

Margaret Shackell (Accounting) won two prestigious Lybrand Awards for Strategic Finance and Management Accounting Quarterly. She won Silver Medal for her manuscript, “Talk May be Cheap, but it Works: Supplement Quantitative Performance Measures with Narrative Reporting,” co-authored with Jeremiah Bentley, Conner Blake, and Pamela Trafford.

Who’s up for connecting through creativity?  (Crowd cheers)  

Staff Council’s Employee Engagement Committee invites all staff to participate in the Haiku Project. 

Haiku is a traditional Japanese form of poetry - a 17 syllable poem written in three lines*. The first line has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables. The third line has 5 syllables. While haiku have traditionally been written with a focus on nature, it’s certainly not a requirement. *(The 5-7-5 style is one variation that is commonly used in English haiku)

Here’s an (ancient) example:

Face frozen on Zoom.

Zoom is frozen on my face.

Mother Nature laughs.

IC Contingent faculty have put together an aid fund to raise funds for contingent professors who have been laid off and are facing the prospect of unemployment and financial ruin.

The IC Contingent Aid Fund is organizing to get support directly to Ithaca College contingent faculty who need it. Any IC Contingent Faculty member, past or present, is welcome to apply for funds that will help them with groceries, health care costs, utilities, rent, childcare, moving expenses, or any other necessities.

Update on Fall 2020 Athletics Season

After careful review of the health and safety needs of the Ithaca College campus community, the evolving landscape in NCAA Division III, and the alarming increase in COVID-19 cases around the country, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has come to the difficult decision to suspend all fall competition for the 2020 season.
