Ithaca College is starting a Study Abroad program in Cuba (pending final college approval) during Spring Break 2017 (March 11-19). Professor Lindsay Gilmour (Theatre Arts) and Professor Enrique González-Conty (Modern Languages and Literatures) will lead "Arts and Culture in Cuba."

 The second class of the SKYWARN program is coming to IC on Tuesday, November 29th at 4pm in Textor 103.  The free class, taught by Daniel Padavona from the National Weather Service, will teach participants about winter weather.  Even if you did not attend the first class, feel free to attend and bring friends!

The Teaching Transgender Tool Kit has won yet another award.  The College Student Personnel Association of New York State recently recognized Luca Maurer, as co-author, with the Significant Research/Publication Award.  This award is designed to call attention to a significant piece or published report having both intrinsic merit and educational significance for the field of student personnel as practiced in post-secondary education institutions.

As the winter weather begins, it’s the perfect time to stay in for a night of fun and games! Join IC After Dark for IC a Winner on Friday, December 2 from 8-11 pm in IC Square! There will be Minute to Win It, Family Feud and many more games and activities to enjoy! (and of course FREE FOOD)

YOU could participate in one of this year’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trips!  ASB is an application-based program sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs (OSEMA) that provides students with service opportunities at one of five sites across the eastern United States.  All students are eligible to apply.

This year, our five trips are:

  • Park Preservation Experience II (Kiptopeke State Park, VA), 11 spaces available
  • Youth Mentoring and Cultural Exploration (Seneca Nation of Indians Allegany Territory, Salamanca, NY), 6 spaces available
  • Coastal Conservation and Oyster Restoration (Outer Banks, NC), 11 spaces available
  • Food Justice in the Urban Environment (Washington DC), 6 spaces available 
  • Fighting Poverty, Creating Opportunity (Detroit, MI), 10 spaces available
