History and Background of the Program

The Ithaca College Dissertation Diversity Fellowship Program was initially created in 2010 in the School of Humanities and Sciences to increase the racial diversity of Ithaca College faculty and, in so doing, bring fresh perspectives to the college’s curriculum and the learning experiences offered to students.

Where does our time go? Somewhere in the middle of our overlapping project deadlines, meetings, and daily emails, we are all just trying to do good work, but it’s hard to keep up. We do our best to stay organized with productivity apps and calendars and “lifehacks” but in the end we are humans and easily distracted by funny videos of cats — how can we be expected to actually get stuff done each day?

Departments using window envelopes should design inserts and address element placement to ensure successful processing of window envelopes on automated equipment.  One critical element that must be considered in the design stage is adequate clear space (blank space) between the address block and all four edges of the window.  The mailpiece should be designed so that when it is inserted into the window envelope the address block will appear in the window no matter how it is shifted or moved within the envelope.

Upper class students who volunteer to assist will be able to move in to their on-campus housing the day before (Saturday, August 20, 2016), and will be required to attend a training session that evening from 7:30 – 8:15 pm.  Your meal plan will begin at lunch on Sunday.

On Thursday, July 7th between 5:00 and 8:00 PM there will be an outage of the campus voice mail system due to maintenance. This will not impact telephone dial tone and general telephone use. The campus Emergency Notification System will continue to function during the voice mail maintenance. Any callers who would reach the voice mail system during this period will receive a recording stating maintenance is ongoing and to call back after 8:00 PM.

During the voice mail outage, if you need to report a technology-related emergency affecting a substantial number of computer or telephone system users, please call our emergency paging number at 607-216-8599 and listen for further instructions. Note that the emergency paging number is not for reporting individual computer  problems.

It has now been just over three weeks since the search for Ithaca College’s next president officially went “live” with the publication and distribution of the position prospectus. We are now in full gear. Our search consultants are compiling profiles and beginning to contact candidates, and we are working with them to ensure the qualities of our candidates are consistent with our needs as an institution. We are still early in the process, but I am very optimistic about our prospects due to the rich candidate pool already in front of us.
