Professor Peter Melcher (Biology) publishes a Commentary “Seeing into the xylem using non-invasive techniques provides clarity in understanding mechanisms involved in long-distance sap transport in plants”. This commentary discusses the importance of a recently published article (July, 2015): “Vulnerability to cavitation differs between current-year and older xylem: nondestructive observation with a compact MRI of two deciduous diffuse-porous species” by Kenji Fukuda, Daichi Kawaguchi, Tomo Aihara, Mayumi Y. Ithaca College ITS is pleased to announce that Alumni Hall, Terrace 13, and Rothschild Place have now passed the Wi-Fi testing phase and are complete. Faculty, Staff and Students using that building should now enjoy strong, stable, robust Wi-Fi service.

This leaves only three buildings left to go with our expected completion of the entire project this month.

The entire ITS 2014 Wi-Fi project team is excited that we are keeping an aggressive pace and look forward to the next few buildings, as the largest wireless initiative in the school’s history moves along with success.

Ithaca College ITS is pleased to announce that both Muller Chapel and Peggy Ryan Williams Center are ready to enter into the testing phase for their new Wi-Fi environment. Between now and July 27th, we are continuously testing the performance of the network and are asking the community for feedback on any issues.

Once testing confirms successful network performance, the buildings will move from testing to a completed status. This expected completion leaves only the Athletics and Event Center left on our list.  All buildings are expected to complete this month!

Voice Mail System Outage, Tuesday, 7/21, 6:00 AM

Our new students will arrive on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Upper class students who volunteer to assist will be able to move in to their on-campus housing the day before (Saturday, August 22, 2015), and will be required to attend a training session that evening from 7 – 8 pm.  Your meal plan will begin at lunch on Sunday.

SPSS Information for 2015-2016

ITS has upgraded the college’s academic SPSS network license to version 23.

You can order your SPSS upgrade by filling out and submitting this form.  The subscription charge is $85 for FY 15-16.  If you currently have version 22 and don’t request an upgrade, your network license for SPSS will stop working as of October 1st. 

Upgrade installs will take place over the summer months; new installs of SPSS can take place at any time throughout the license year.
