Hogben on 12/02/14 Sherry Deckman’s (Education) work, “Beyond the Numbers: Institutional Influences on Experiences With Diversity on Elite College Campuses,” appears in the current (December 2014) issue of Sociological Forum. The paper, co-authored with Natasha Warikoo (Harvard University), draws on 77 in-depth interviews with students from two elite universities. The paper argues that though the schools have demographically similar student bodies, different institutional approaches can have significant impact on students’ campus diversity experiences and reflects Sherry’s larger research agenda focused on diversity in education.

Weller's original paper won the prestigious Christine Wilson Award, presented to outstanding undergraduate and graduate student research papers that examine topics within the perspectives of nutrition, food studies and anthropology. If you have time available during the week of December 15 - 19, and can give us a three-hour block of time for proctoring exams, please contact us. Our daily seating times for exam administration are: 7:30 - 10:30 AM 10:30 - 1:30 PM 1:30 - 4:30 PM 4:30 - 7:30 PM 6:00 - 9:00 PM This may be a good time for you to get some grading or reading done and, at the same time, provide a valuable service to the IC community.
