The Ithaca Music Forum presents, "Race Mobility and the Warp and Weft of American Musical Fabric" by Dr. Nancy Rao (Rutgers University). Dr. Rao discusses the networks and migrations that made Chinese opera a part of North American cultures. In particular, she explores issues of archives, border crossings, visual emblems, and the sounding of identity. Free and open to the public. Reception to follow.  Friday, February 21 at 5PM in Nabenhauer Recital Hall, Whalen Center for Music.

We will be conducting a study with 3-15 year-olds Feb. 17-22 in the IC Cognition Lab looking at how the link between heart activity and breathing changes during activities such as rhythmic movement and listening to music, poetry, and a reading.  Participation takes about 30 min. and children receive a $10 gift card.
