Faculty Council is looking for several faculty members to serve on the search committee for Vice President for Finance and Administration Carl Sgrecci’s replacement. Most search activity will occur during the fall semester with some spillover into the spring semester. We anticipate little or no activity in between semesters. Please contact Peter Rothbart, rothbart@ithaca.edu. All faculty are encouraged to volunteer and those with knowledge of financial, business and operational systems and processes are especially invited to step forward.

Faculty Council is seeking two members for the search committee for the new position of director of student advising, as discussed at the recent All-Campus Faculty Meeting. One member should be from H&S and the other from one of the professional schools.  The search is expected to begin as soon as the committee is formed and be completed by the end of the semester, so please send me your nominations no later than, Friday noon, August 31. rothbart@ithaca.edu. For anyone committed to the importance of student advising, this is a chance to make a significant impact on the emerging process.

Peter Rothbart, Faculty Council chair

Please be aware that the ICAirnet-Secure wireless network cannot be accessed by 64-bit operating systems such as Windows Vista or Windows 7. The wireless network infrastructure is still connected to the "old" campus network, and 64-bit compatibility with ICAirnet-Secure will not be available until the wireless network is transitioned to the new network. ITS is still in the planning stages for this complex change and a date has not been set for moving the wireless network. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Note that the non-secure ICAirnet wireless network can be accessed by 64-bit computers.
