The Handwerker Gallery is proud to announce the long-awaited publication of the student-written exhibition catalogue for Voices: Truth, Identity, and Art in Africa, on view at the gallery through Thursday, April 5.  Catalogues are available at the gallery at no cost and feature 58 art historical entries and an introductory essay by Parker M. Daley ('12), Caitlin C. Darnall ('11), Elisabeth A. Hurley ('12), and Britteni L. Lupe ('12).  Stop by the gallery and pick one up to check out the wonderful work by some of our students!

Caribbean Students Association invites the members of Ithaca College and the greater Ithaca Community to attend a session lead by Trinidadian author Merle Hodge on April 4th starting at 7pm in Textor 102. The title of the session is "Caribbean Literature and the Journey to Peoplehood".

It is a great pleasure to announce to the Ithaca College community that last Friday, March 30th, the Academic Policies Committee (APC) unanimously approved Ithaca College’s first general education program, the Integrative Core Curriculum (ICC).  This vote was preceded by positive votes in all five of our schools and in the APC Curriculum Subcommittee.

Hantao Li and Mengfei Xu, Ithaca College international students studying at the School of Music, recently traveled to Oakland, California to compete in the 20th United States Open Music Competition. An annual competition held since 1992, the competition was held from February 20-26th this year.

The next student driver safety class will be offered on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 from 7pm-9pm in Textor 102.

Celebrate LGBT Awareness Month

April is LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Awareness Month.

The Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services -- in collaboration with a variety of campus student groups, departments, offices, and community partners -- will host events and learning opportunities focusing on LGBT themes throughout the month.

Beginning Fall 2012, Ithaca College will support the Turning Technologies NXT student response system. Since the current eInstruction Interwrite PRS clickers are being discontinued by the vendor, ITS and a group of faculty volunteers researched options and concluded that the Turning Technologies solution is the best option.
