Due to the unexpected malfunction of both elevators serving the East Tower - necessitating the closure of the t c lounge for tonight - the informal evening with polar explorer Eric Larsen here at Ithaca College has regretfully been cancelled.

Please note that Eric's formal presentation at Cornell University at 5:00PM is being held as scheduled. Eric’s presentation:Into the Heart of Cold: Stories from the Front Lines of our Changing Climate”, will take place at Cornell University in the Call Auditorium in Kennedy Hall.

Professor Janice Levy, who is on sabbatical leave from the Department of Cinema, Photography and Media Arts, and teaching at Princess Nora Bint Abdul Rahman University (PNU) in Riyadh, will present “A Photographic Journey” Sunday night, February 20, at the Embassy of Sweden in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In her presentation, Professor Levy will talk about her first semester teaching at PNU. She will share her first photographic impressions of Saudi Arabia, the work produced by her students, plans and projects for the future, and the challenges and rewards of teaching photography as an interdisciplinary medium.

The School of Humanities and Sciences and the Department of Writing are pleased to present National Book Critics Circle Award finalist in poetry Major Jackson as part of this semester’s Distinguished Visiting Writers Series. Assistant Director for Event Planning and Operations, Mark Warfle, joined the CC&ES team over 10 years ago. A natural born event planner, Mark always gravitated towards organizing whether it was through his work in the local fire department, church or other community activities. While still in high school he got his event start by setting up, bussing and serving at events held at the Owego Treadway Inn. Since then he has coordinated the details for nearly every type of event. His event philosophy is “failing to plan is planning to fail.”

The IC Game Developer's Club took first place in the Microsoft-sponsored game jam held at RIT.  The team (Corey Jeffers, Computer Information Systems, '11, Ashley Alicea, Planned Studies, '12,  Evan Marinaro, Computer Science, '13 and Elliot Rodriguez, Computer Science,'14) designed and prototyped a game addressing the competition theme "Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems."
