It's almost here!  The event of the year! A night of great fun, entertainment, performances, activities, and craziness. 

Friday April 16th @ 7pm @ IC Square 

Performances start at 7:30pm

Performances by Yamatai (Taiko Drumming), FantAsia (singers), Teszia (Belly dancers), Cornell Hawaiian Club, Cornell Lion Dance, Seishi Juku (karate kids!) and more! 

Activities from a tea ceremony to calligraphy to chopsticks competition and much much more!

Raffle prizes include Asian Ithaca is Gorges t-shirts and baskets of Asian snacks.  Food by the Ithaca Dining Services from springs rolls to lo mein to curry and Indian pancakes!

Introduction to photographic processes and historical, conceptual, and aesthetic concerns. Fundamentals of the art, including camera handling, exposure, digital image control and correction, lighting, composition, and printing.

Students will use both film and digital cameras.

This Thursday April 15th in Textor 101 Habitat for Humanity is hosting a documentary screening called 'Hammer and Cycle', about a group of college graduates who biked across the U.S. to raise awareness about Habitat For Humanity. This event is a part of StressOut Week, so be sure to come stop by the Active Minds table in the North Foyer all week!


Active Minds is an organization working to utilize the student voice to change the conversation about mental health on college campuses.

 The Society of Professional Journalists has named The Ithacan the Best Non-Daily Newspaper in the Northeast region for 2009.

The paper received the First Place Mark of Excellence Award on April 10 at the SPJ's Region 1 spring conference at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York. It now goes on to compete against the winners in the other 11 SPJ regions for the national Mark of Excellence award, which will be announced at SPJ's national conference October 3–5 in Las Vegas.

This is the third year in a row The Ithacan has been named best in the Northeast by SPJ; two years ago the paper was ranked number two in the country.

In addition, the following students received awards for work published in The Ithacan in 2009:
