Join PODER:Latino Student Association as we welcome to speak DR.Hector Velez on Latinos and Latino organizations on campus.

Dr. Hector Velez will be talking about the history of Latinos and Latino-based organizations at Ithaca College and how they have contributed to the IC community. J. David Hammond, for whom Ithaca College's Health Center is named, passed away on Monday, March 22. He had served as director of the center from the time it was built in 1966 until his retirement in 1982.

IC Theatre will stage “Floyd Collins,” a musical based on the true story of a man trapped inside a Kentucky cave. “Floyd Collins” features a score by Adam Guettel with book and additional lyrics by Tina Landau.

Tiffany N. Hilton, Assistant Professor and Jeff R. Houck, Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the Rochester Center were awarded a R03 grant from the National Institutes of Health for their project entitled, "Prognostic factors that predict functional outcome after hip fracture".   The goal of this two year study is to use clinical and biomechanical variables to identify which patients following hip fracture will benefit from restorative care to improve function and reduce falls risk.

NewsWatch 16 was nominated as a finalist for a Region 1 Mark of Excellence Award by the Society of Professional Journalists. Awards are given in categories for print, radio, television and online collegiate journalism.

NewsWatch 16 is a live newscast on ICTV, featuring thorough, up-to-the-minute coverage of what is happening in Tompkins County, New York State and all around the globe. It airs Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., or can be viewed at ictv.org.

The awards will be presented during the Mark of Excellence Luncheon April 9-10 in New York City.

IC Asian Culture Club is hosting its annual Asia Month celebration in April.

A discussion about Asian/Asian American identities on campus and in society. We will talk about mixed race issues, being an adopted Asian, the difference between Asian and Asian American and being Asian/Asian American on the Ithaca College campus.

The Department of Writing is pleased to present poet C. K. Williams, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award, as part of the Distinguished Visiting Writers Series. He will read from his work on Wednesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Clark Lounge, Egbert Hall. His reading is free and open to everyone.
