Peter Rothbart's "Play or Die," a 1982 interview with jazz legend Anthony Braxton, has been reprinted as part of DownBeat Magazine's 75th anniversary anthology entitled, "DownBeat - The Great Jazz Interviews." The book contains some of the magazine's most definitive jazz interviews, arranged by decade.

Shabbat Services Revamped

Students asked and Hillel delivers. There will be reform and conservative Shabbat services this week! The reform service will be led by expert Cantor Abbe Lyons with special reform prayer books from synagogue Tikkun v'Or. The conservative service will be student run. Both groups will join together at the end for wine and challah.

We are past the halfway mark through our third consecutive 17-week series. And the successes just keep coming! Attendance has been holding steady. We have dropped a collective 368.4 pounds during this series and a whopping total of 1539.9 pounds since April 2009! Several members have recently reached their individual goals—with another one less than a pound away!—and we expect to hear any week that they have earned Lifetime status.

The fourth 17-week series is scheduled to begin in mid-April. Be on the lookout for a call for registrations in Intercom in March. We will need at least 20 prepaid participants for the series to continue as scheduled.
