$500 is awarded each semester by the Premed Committee via the Fred Kastenbaum PreHealth Award.

The award is to be used for assistance with preparation for the required standardized exams associated with admittance to graduate health programs such as: MCAT, DAT,  OAT, GRE.

The IC Commit-to-Change Program is sponsoring a competition open to ALL IC students for creation of a site-specific sculpture to be installed on the Ithaca College campus. The winning project team will receive the Cradle-to-Cradle Student Environmental Art Award and a check for $1000.

This is a reminder that a test of the Ithaca College Emergency Notification System (ENS) will take place this Thursday, Feb. 11, during the noon hour. The latest entry details the results of the college's organizational meeting and provides information on how to sign up to work on various proposed programs and fundraisers.

 David Turkon (Anthropology) and Alexander Rödlach of Creighton University, co-edited a special volume of the African Journal of AIDS Research (AJAR). The issue, which is Volume 8, Number 4, is sub-headed Interdisciplinarity and Collaboration in Responding to HIV and AIDS in Africa: Anthropological Perspectives. David was lead author on an article titled Anthropological perspectives on the challenges to monitoring and evaluating HIV and AIDS programming in Lesotho. He was also co-author on an article titled Addressing the HIV/AIDS–food insecurity syndemic in sub-Saharan Africa. A description of the special volume and citations and abstracts for the articles follow.

Leigh Hurst, ’92, founder of the "Feel Your Boobies" campaign, will be holding a discussion on Thursday, February 18 at 7:30 pm in Textor 101.

"Feel Your Boobies" is a breast cancer non-profit organization and international campaign focused on spreading this life saving message to young women using unexpected and unconventional methods. Hurst will review the campaign from an academic perspective related to the use of media for motivational and educational purposes. The ever-important role of social media will be highlighted, as well as other guiding principles of the campaign.
