The editorial board for the IC Journal are currently looking for papers based on race, culture, gender and/or ethnicity to be apart of this years Spring 2010 edition. The purpose of the journal is to raise awareness and to promote discussions about various issues and complexities of race, culture, gender, and ethnicity and the impacts on our community, whether that may be here at Ithaca College or throughout the world. These papers can range in length but must be at least 6 pages. The deadline is February 19th.

This is a great opportunity to get students' work out and published to the public since you can find the Ithaca College Journal of Race, Culture, Gender and Ethnicity in the Library of Congress. If you would like to submit a paper the deadline is February 19th and can be emailed to theicjournal@gmail.com.

Go to Italy this summer!

Spend three weeks this summer in Siena, a beautiful medieval hill town in the heart of Tuscany.  Italy: Language & Culture is a three-week, three-credit course which combines conversational Italian practice wtih a cultural tour of Siena and other historically important Italian cities.  The program runs from May 25-June 16, 2010.

Kaleigh Mrowka (Class of 2010) and Professor Danette Johnson co-authored a journal article that has been accepted for publication in Communication Education, a blind-reviewed publication of the National Communication Association.
The article title is "Generative Learning, Quizzing, and Cognitive Learning: An Experimental Study in the Communication Classroom."  It reports on an empirical study of classroom interaction conducted by the authors.
