Changes to OSCAR

The the key to access the Office Supply Collection and Reuse (OSCAR) room at 196 Phillips Hall is no longer available at the ITS Main Desk, 102 Muller Center . Staffed hours for OSCAR will be annouced this Friday.

On Saturday, October 3, IC Ballroom and Cornell DanceSport will be hosting the Cayuga DanceSport Challenge - a collegiate ballroom dancing competition. This all-day competition will take place in the Ben Light Gymnasium in the Hill Center.

Sarah Yengo has announced her retirement from Ithaca College, after 22 years, the last 14 in the H&S Dean’s Office. Sarah’s last day will be Friday, October 2. Please join us in wishing her well and in having a piece of cake (or two) by coming down to the dean’s office for an open house in Sarah’s honor, Thursday, October 1, between 2:00 and 4:00.

“Strategies for Building a Successful Career” will be the topic of a workshop sponsored by Opera America at the Ithaca College School of Music on Saturday, October 3. Experts in the field from ADA Artist Management, the Eastman School of Music, Glimmerglass Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, and Lake George Opera at Saratoga will participate. Sessions on planning a career, making the most of school and training programs, getting hired and working as a professional singer, and performing an effective audition will be included.

The New York State Education Department recently approved the registration of Documentary Studies and Production as a new BA degree at Ithaca College. This degree program will be housed in the Roy H. Park School of Communications and is one of the first degrees in the school to draw on courses from multiple departments, including Television-Radio, Journalism and Cinema, Photography and Media Arts.
