The Malmö Academic Choir and Orchestra will present a free concert of Scandinavian music at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, in Ford Hall.

On a North American tour from Toronto to New York, the group will also perform at the Ithaca Festival. Conductor Daniel Hansson will be joined by tenor soloist Joachim Bäckström.

Assistant professor of sociology Stephen Sweet, associate professor of sociology Susanne Morgan (who also heads the Center for Faculty Excellence), and Danette Ifert Johnson, associate professor and chair of the Department of Speech Communication, have had an article accepted for publication in the journal Numeracy. The article, "Using Local Data to Advance Quantitative Literacy," details the ways local data have been integrated in classes at Ithaca College and demonstrates pedagogical strategies to advance quantitative literacy.

Two Elected to Board of Trustees

The Ithaca College Board of Trustees has elected Ed Rivera '88 to a three-year term as alumni trustee and Chris Lee '10 to a two-year term as student trustee.

At its May meeting, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees awarded promotions to seven faculty members. In addition, Leslie Lewis, who will assume the position of dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences on July 1, was granted tenure and the rank of professor.

Over 4,000 prospective students and guests visited our campus for last fall's programs, and nearly 2,000 accepted students and guests attended our spring programs. These programs present a wonderful opportunity for our campus community to show prospective student and their families why Ithaca College is such a great place.
