The Counseling Center is sponsoring a Stomp Out the Stigma rally on February 28, 2008, in IC Square from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The rally provides numerous IC student organizations an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership and support of suicide prevention and Counseling Center services, while also entertaining their peers. The goal of the Stomp Out the Stigma rally is to bring students together for an evening of fun and entertainment and provide them with information about suicide awareness and prevention.

The Office of Public Safety is investigating the theft of an historic piece of Ithaca College artwork. The theft occurred from the Campus Center on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Representatives from Safe Kids Buckle Up will be at the Family Carnival informing kids and their parents about how to properly restrain themselves while riding in a motor vehicle. The Family Carnival will take place Friday, February 22, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ithaca College Fitness Center.

Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to answer questions and help assist parents in choosing the proper seat for their child, as well as determine if a child is ready for a seat belt.

Joan Jacobs Brumberg, author of The Body Project: An Intimate History of American Girls and Fasting Girls: A History of Anorexia Nervosa, will give two presentations in Clark Lounge on the night of Monday, February 18. The first is a panel presentation and discussion on eating disorders from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by another talk on growing up in a female body from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Shaianne Osterreich, assistant professor of economics, has been awarded a $10,000 grant to study the Indonesian economy as a Sumitro Fellow. The grant is through the auspices of USINDO, a private U.S.-Indonesian society that supports cultural, academic, and political understanding between the two countries.

Janice Levy, associate professor in the Department of Cinema, Photography, and Media Arts, made a presentation January 25 at the annual meeting of the American Conference of Academic Deans (ACAD). She was on the panel, "Learning to Bridge the World: Strategies for Global Partnerships," and described the College's offerings in Antigua.
