The Ithaca College Choir and Madrigal Singers will give a free joint concert on Sunday, April 22 at 4:00 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. The concert will be conducted by Lawrence Doebler and graduate conducting students Drew Benware and Chris Dresko. The choir will present a world premiere by Tyler Flanders, a composition student and two year member of the Ithaca College Choir, along with works by Ives, Argento, and Rachmaninoff.

The Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra will present the final concert of their 2006-07 season on Friday, April 20. The concert is free, begins at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall, and is conducted by Jeffery Meyer.
The program includes Charles Ives’s “The Unanswered Question” and Brahms’s “Serenade No. 2 in D major.”

Through three previous rounds of sustainability curriculum development mini-grants, 43 proposals from faculty at Ithaca College and residents at EcoVillage at Ithaca were approved. Each recipient was awarded $1,000 to create new courses or to adapt existing course content to incorporate sustainability themes.

Student's for Economic Equality (SEE) is helping put on a concert with a group out of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Tompkins County Workers' Center. The concert will take place in the central pavilion of the Ithaca Commons on Sunday April 29th from 1-5PM. Due to the benefit nature there is a $5 suggested donation and will be a raffle with $1 tickets as well as a food and clothing drive.

The bands currently confirmed for the event are Adam Day, Jimkata, Ayurveda and Mbusi. Between bands will be personal testimonials from people that have experienced poverty and helped overcome poverty in their lives. In addition there will be local organizations tabling with helpful information and an arts and crafts section (including face painting).

A large part of the concert is a food and clothing drive which has already started. If you have extra cloths your looking to get rid of contact Dara at dleinwe1@ithaca.edu or Billy Dawn at bgreenb1@ithaca.edu. You can also bring the food and cloths to the event.
