Three English majors presented their H&S Summer Scholar work at the Children's Literature Association's annual conference in Indianapolis June 13-15. The theme of this year's conference was "Empathy and Activism."
Dr. Figueroa presented paper titled “Bayard Rustin’s Quaker Heritage and the U.S. Labor, Civil and Gay Rights Movements” as part of his continuous book project Bayard Rustin: The Pragmatic Quaker at the Quaker Studies open-themed conference that was held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Quaker Studies Research Association (QSRA) and twenty years of the Centre for Research in Quaker Studies (CRQS) at Woodbrooke, Birmingham, UK.

Katarzyna Pasternak, a PhD student in Psychology from John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin in Poland, is visiting Ithaca College to conduct research for part of her dissertation. Her research examines cross cultural aspects of the relationship between imagination and meaning in life.
