Studies and Cinema and Photography) presented "Shrubland Habitat Restoration in Contiguous Forest: Win-Win Management for Biodiversity" at the Annual Meeting of the New York State Ornithological Association. The conference was held in Oneonta, NY in September. John Confer presented "Managing Habitat for Shrubland Birds" at a conference on "Early Successional Habitat" sponsored by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation at the Rensselaerville Environmental Institute in September. (46 words) Composition by Persis Parshall Vehar '59 Honoring Warren Benson Premieres SundayContributed by Erik Kibelsbeck on 10/06/06 Composer and percussionist Warren Benson was a faculty member in the School of Music from 1953 to 1967 and made a huge difference in many IC students' lives. He also wrote the music for the College's original alma mater, the "Ithaca College Anthem." He passed away in October 2005. To honor him, his former student, acclaimed composer Persis Parshall Vehar '59, wrote "Kaddish (In Memoriam – Warren Benson).” Read more . . .
