The East Tower has reopened as of 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25. The residence hall was closed following a morning fire that was contained to a single room on the 10th floor. The Ithaca Fire Department responded and the sprinkler system extinguished the fire, and no one was injured.

Because of smoke and water damage to rooms, the entire 10th floor and three rooms on the 9th floor cannot be occupied for at least the overnight. The college is assisting the displaced residents in making alternative housing arrangements. Only one of the two elevators is working at this time, with the other expected to be back in service on Friday.

Summer Grants for Faculty Research are intended to support post-terminal degree scholarly endeavors for full-time continuing Ithaca College faculty and faculty regularly employed on at least a half-time basis. Awards provide $3,350 in compensation for eight weeks or full-time research. Proposals are due in the Center for Faculty Excellence, 316 Gannett Center, by Thursday, February 15. RLS 23800 - Leisure and Aging

Explores the role of leisure in the aging process. Students analyze the effects of incorporating meaningful leisure activities into the lifestyles of older individuals, based on their needs and interests. Visits to facilities and interaction with older individuals in leisure settings demonstrate the importance of leisure to a healthy lifestyle for older individuals.

Prerequisites: RLS 10100 or GERO 10100  
3.000 Credit hours 
3.000 Lecture hours
