The sad truth is, our laws are designed to accommodate pollution rather than prevent it. It’s no wonder people feel powerless when it comes to preserving the quality of their water, air, public parks, and special natural spaces.

But there is a solution, argues veteran environmentalist Maya K. van Rossum: bypass the laws and turn to the ultimate authority—our state and federal constitutions.

School of Music Dean Karl Paulnack has been reelected to the Commission on Accreditation of the National Association of Schools of Music. The eighteen elected members of the Commission are vested by NASM with the authority to grant or deny accreditation for music programs in the United States. NASM reports to the US Department of Education and serves as both a specialized and “gatekeeper” accreditor for more than 650 accredited programs.

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management congratulates Patrol Officer Corinne Searle on her recent graduation from the Broome County Police Academy.  Officer Searle also earned the Top Academic Award for her graduating class of almost 40 new officers!

On Monday October 30, Information Technology released the Windows 10 Self-Service install that allows you to upgrade to Windows 10 without assistance from IT.

We currently have 1,261 PC’s running Windows 10 on campus:

  • 111 Individuals have successfully completed the self-service installation
  • 650 Lab and eClassrooms have been upgraded
  • 250 Fall 2017 technology renewal PC’s have been replaced
  • 250 Initial pilot upgrades and non-tech renewal computers
