Through critiques, lectures, readings and discussions, we will explore historic and contemporary image-text work, philosophically investigating means of visual and written communication and interpretation. We will examine the literal and metaphoric meaning derived from individual images and from associations between images in a series and between images and essays, short stories, and poems.
