(144 words) Andy Smith published a paper in the journal Biofouling, which was titled, "RNA-Seq reveals a central role for lectin, C1q and von Willebrand factor A domains in the defensive glue of a terrestrial slug". Cassandra Papaleo (Biology '17) was one of the co-authors of this paper, as well as Joseph Bliss (Biology '90). In addition, Andy's contribution to the development of a novel medical glue was highlighted this summer by articles in the Smithsonian Magazine, Science News, PBS, and The Washington Post. (Read the articles below.) Andy also gave a keynote address this summer in the Adhesion section of the Society of Experimental Biology's annual meetings in Goteborg, Sweden.
