Despite increasing interest in aquaponic and hydroponic food production systems as a way to address food sustainability and security needs, there is a huge knowledge gap in the prevalence and distribution of pathogens. This study generated data on the levels and prevalence of microbial contaminants in three aquaponics and five hydroponics systems in New York to help address this knowledge gap and to generate preliminary data on which future studies can build.

Starting August 3rd, Sakai will be protected by Duo. Your login process will remain the same other than the addition of a Duo prompt similar to those on Banner, Office 365, and the HR system. Starting August 11th, all access to Parnassus will require first connecting to our Global Protect virtual private network (VPN). This includes access from both on and off campus, but it only affects Parnassus (our old HR/Finance system). Access to the the new Finance and HR Cloud system is unaffected. Only a small number of people still have need to access Parnassus.

On Sunday, June 7th, 2020, Dr. Janet Galván was a panelist for the Pennsylvania American Choral Directors Association’s first webinar for the summer.  She was speaking about choral instruction and performance in a virtual paradigm. 

 

 

Ithaca College has been organizing virtual spaces for faculty, staff, and students to gather and reflect on the current and ongoing race relations in the United States. These spaces are designed for white-identified students to understand systemic racism in order to dismantle it, and to understand their role in this work.

Join the Park Center for Independent Media on Wednesday, July 29 for a webinar on the media environment amid the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing protests against racial injustice. Our speakers will review the coverage of pandemic and protests by the mainstream media and discuss if recent reporting on racial justice protests represents a shift from the traditional underplaying of race in police stories. The webinar will also explore how the pandemic is affecting independent media outlets and what should we expect in the future.
