On February 3, 2017, OSEMA will host the Student Organization Fair. There will be over 100 student organizations. This is you opportunity to recruit new members, promote an event or network with other student organizations. Space is limited.

To sign up, please complete the Student Organization Fair Sign up form by 5pm on January 25.

Effective January 16th, 2017, the password expiration period for Netpass, Parnassus and HomerAdmin has been extended from 120 days (4 months) to 180 days (6 months). This means that these passwords will now only need to be changed twice per year instead of three times per year. Some additional notes:

Students can now sign up to receive SLI credit for the college's MLK Week Celebration January 23-28. This year's theme is "The Ultimate Weakness of Violence" which is a concept taken from King's last book, "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" Each session is worth one credit in the Leading in a Diverse World Track. As always, you need to sign up at least 48 hours in advance to receive credit. You also need to be a member of the SLI Portal in order to sign up for the event.

All members of the IC campus community are welcome to attend this moving, educational, and highly acclaimed documentary by director Ava DuVernay.  "13th", named after the 13th Amendment which outlawed slavery, focuses on race and the issue of mass incarceration in the US criminal justice system.

The purpose of the IRB at Ithaca College is to ensure that any research involving human subjects that is conducted by the administrators, faculty, staff, or students conforms to the College’s Mission, Professional Codes of Conduct, and Federal Guidelines of the Department of Health and Human Services.  Research is defined as any systematic, empirical investigation, including research development, testing, and evaluation, designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge. All proposed research is reviewed by the IRB to ensure that risks to human subjects are minimal and that human subjects are treated in a manner that conforms to the ethical guidelines of the Department of Health and Human Services and the ethics codes of professional organizations.

The offices of Admission, Analytics and Institutional Research, Enrollment Management and Student Financial Services will be closed on Wednesday, January, 18th for a divisional retreat. The Office of Career Services will remain open with limited services (counselors will not be available).

Staff from the division of Teaching and Learning with Technology (DIIS) are hosting drop-in hours to help instructors get up and running with their technology needs for the Spring 2017 semester. Come in for help with Sakai, Zoom, Lynda.com, course design, clickers, Kaltura video hosting and more. Refreshments will be available so feel free to drop in for some snacks.

The club Ithaca College Unites For HER has participated in fundraising efforts to provide a grant to any student, faculty or immediate family member of theirs affected by breast cancer. This grant is to help pay for integrative, complementary therapies to help those who are going through or have gone through breast cancer treatment. These therapies include acupuncture, yoga classes, massage therapy, and nutrition counseling among others.
