(164 words) FLEFF announces funding for 15 pre-doc and pre-MFA diversity scholars to visit Ithaca College, October 23-25thContributed by Warren Schlesinger on 08/30/16 The 2016 FLEFF Diversity Scholars Initiative will bring to Ithaca College fifteen graduate students from a wide range of disciplines from groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education. FLEFF Diversity Scholars will attend the World Music Festival, FLEFF Faculty Forums, and will meet Ithaca College faculty and students. Strong preference will be given to students who are ABD or late stage MFA’s including late stage MS in Communications. This three day, October 23-25th inside look will showcase the artistic and intellectual environment at Ithaca College.

(75 words) The Longview - Ithaca College Shuttle Continues Reduced Hours for Monday, 8/29, but will Resume its Regular Schedule on Tuesday, 8/30Contributed by Christine Pogorzala on 08/29/16 The Longview - Ithaca College shuttle has been running on reduced hours since the beginning of classes due to a vehicle being out of service. Reduced hours continue for Monday, 8/29 with the shuttle running until 11:00 AM. The shuttle will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, 8/30. The schedule for the shuttle can be found on the Gerontology Institute's web page at: https://www.ithaca.edu/gerontology/longview/. Contact Christine Pogorzala, the IC/Longview Coordinator with any questions (607.274.1051 / pogorzal@ithaca.edu). All bicycles on campus must be registered. Bicycle registration is free. Individual bicycles only need to be registered once. Registration helps the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management to identify owners of lost, stolen or impounded bicycles and to disseminate safety information. Bicycle registration also allows Ithaca College to plan more accurately for improved bicycle parking and bicycle safety. If you see a bike you believe to be abandoned and/or is causing a safety hazard please contact our office at 274-3756. (25 words) The Ithaca College Women's Swimming and Diving Team will be offering swimming and diving lessons for all ages on the following Saturdays: September 10, 17, 24 and October 1 and 8, 2016. Participants will be taught by a member of the team either one-on-one or one instructor per two students in either a five - 30 minute lessons from 10:00-10:30 or 10:45 -11:15 am; or for five – 1 hour lessons for older children or adults from 10:00-11:00 am. The fee for registration is $60.00 for the five-30 minute lessons; and the cost of the five 1-hour lessons will be $100.00. Posted on behalf of President Tom Rochon It is with great sadness that I inform the Ithaca College community that one of our students passed away at Cayuga Medical Center early on the morning of Sunday, August 28. Shortly before 2 a.m. two individuals were stabbed during a large fight near the intersection of College Avenue and Campus Road. The second Ithaca College student who was stabbed in that incident was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a regional trauma center and released. Read more . . .
