All are invited to the second-annual Ithaca Pan Asian American Film Festival. Events start tomorrow, Friday April 15, with a screening of Americanese in Textor 102 at 4:00pm. Director Eric Byler and author Shawn Wong will be joining us. Start the weekend right with a movie, popcorn, raffle prizes, and more!

The Search Committee for the Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) is pleased to provide an update on where it stands in the search process.  On April 1st through April 2nd 2016, we conducted our first round of interviews.  From those initial meetings, the committee has selected a total of four candidates that will move along in the process for the on campus interviews, which are scheduled for April 18th, 22nd, 25th, and 26th.

This year, thirteen students and one faculty member have been honored by membership in the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society. The Sigma Xi motto is: "Companions in Zealous Research", a phrase that describes these scientists well. Founded in 1886, Sigma Xi is the international honor society of scientists and engineers who are elected to membership because of their research achievements or potential. The honorees were introduced by their research mentors at the banquet of the Paulen A Smith Chapter, which is celebrating its Fifty-first year at Ithaca College.

 In January, a team comprised of Xanthe Matychak, lecturer for the Environmental Studies Department, and the owners of Wicked Device Electronics Co and makers of Air Quality Egg, Dirk Swart and Vic Aprea, won an Infosys Maker Award to develop lights that visualize air quality data.

   "Ujamaa" ('family hood' in Swahili) was the concept that formed the basis of Julius Nyerere's social and economic development policies in Tanzania after it gained independence from Britain in 1961.

We have named this event Ujamaa as it ties into our theme for the year: Embracing Pan-Africa.
