The following was submitted on behalf of Frank Eggleston, son of longtime IC professor Gordon Eggleston, who passed away on April 21, 2015. (You can read more about Professor Eggleston at An Enduring Tribute.)

We will be having a celebration of life for my dad, Gordon Eggleston, on Thursday, July 9, 1:00 p.m., at the Brooktondale Baptist Church, located at 2311 Slaterville Road in Brooktondale, New York.

ITS has just finished the installation and cutover of the new Wi-Fi environment in the Terrace and Towers Dining Halls.  Testing will continue through July 14th.  At that time, if testing is successful, those areas will move to a completed status.  Users of Wi-Fi in those areas should enjoy stable and robust Wi-Fi service.  If there are any issues, please report them to the Helpdesk by calling 274-1000, or emailing helpdesk @ithaca.edu

Please join us for a farewell reception for Ellen Shank who will be retiring on July 17, 2015 after 15 years of service at the College.  Ellen has served an integral role in the H&S Dean’s Office and we very much will miss her dedication and good-natured spirit.

On behalf of the College’s Facilities Planning Committee, I am pleased to share with the campus community a revised Project Approval Request (PAR) process for capital construction and renovation projects. Although the new process will begin this fall, I wanted to ensure that there was an understanding of how the new process will be conducted. 

First and foremost, the new PAR process has been designed to ensure fairness and equity across the Divisions of the College. Accordingly, we have decentralized the initial component of the process by requiring all projects to be submitted directly to one’s Vice President. This and all other associated steps of the process – replete with timelines – can be found at this link.

Many students have asked about the Student Organization Fair moving to outside; therefore, we want to know your opinion. Please vote below if you want the Student Organization Fair outside or inside. Please read the descriptions below of what each location would look like.

Inside- Emerson Suites

  • Have access to electricity- outlets, tvs and other forms of audio visual
  • Easy access for students and attracts passing traffic

Outside- Campus Center Quad

  • No power
  • Student Organizations will have the opportunity to perform
  • Not as accessible for students to pass through

*Please note at both locations student organization will have to share a table with another student organization!

The Wi-Fi rebuild in Ceracche Center and Muller Faculty Center was recently completed. Our testing shows that Wi-Fi performance is much improved, but we'd like affirmation from the people that use Wi-Fi in those buildings.
