Dr. Katherine Beissner, Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and fellow of the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute, will be presenting “Pondering Pain: Lessons from the Big Apple and Beyond” While Dr. Beissner enjoys working in a variety of physical therapy areas, her primary research interest is in geriatric pain management through the use of cognitive and behavioral self-management strategies. Her recent research examines how race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, health history, social support and physical abilities affect the function and quality of life of older adults. Read more . . .
