Please join me on Thursday, October 2 for the second Faculty Colloquium of the academic year. Dr. Katherine Beissner, Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and fellow of the Ithaca College Gerontology Institute, will be presenting “Pondering Pain: Lessons from the Big Apple and Beyond” While Dr. Beissner enjoys working in a variety of physical therapy areas, her primary research interest is in geriatric pain management through the use of cognitive and behavioral self-management strategies. Her recent research examines how race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, health history, social support and physical abilities affect the function and quality of life of older adults. Read more . . .
