Graduate student Erica DeNicola and professor Raj Subramaniam publish article on Environment Attitudes in Public Health JournalContributed by Matt Morgan on 06/05/14 Graduate student Erica DeNicola and professor Raj Subramaniam from the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education recently published article on Environmental Attitudes and Political Partisanship. This article explores the impact of political partisanship on environmental attitudes related to climate change in the United States and its implication for public health. The authors make a strong case that preserving the environment must take precedence over economic growth if we want a habitable planet low in carbon. To read the full article, click here. The Directors' Cup ranks the nation's elite intercollegiate athletic programs based on their finish in championship events. Theresa Lau (AT/DPT '16) was awarded the NATA scholarship; Andrew Claypool (AT/DPT '16) was awarded the NYSATA scholarship; and Rory Fawcett (AT/DPT '16) was awarded the EATA scholarship. Ithaca College has an impressive history of receiving athletic training scholarships. Since 1981, Ithaca College students have received a total of 67 scholarships from the NATA, NYSATA, and EATA, totaling $115,500, or an average of $1,750 per recipient. This year, department supervisors will have a five-week period to make recommendations for salary adjustments with the process closing on July 18, 2014. Prior to the official opening, department supervisors will receive detailed information regarding the annual salary review process along with guidelines for awarding salary increases and instructions for accessing the online process. The new salaries will become effective with the first pay period in August.
